The Holy Spirit Pilgrimage Retreat from Louisiana,USA,visited St Mang Basilica Füssen during their 3 week Pilgrimage Tour of some of the Shrines of Europe.With them was the the New Orleans Seelos Centre Administrator,Joyce Bourgeois.One of the the Last living relatives of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos,Lilly Aschenbrenner showed them the family documents that she holds.(Click photo for News page)

1)MONSIGNOR KARLHEINZ KNEBEL;FORMER PARISH PRIEST OF FÜSSEN IS NOW VICAR GENERAL OF AUGSBURG DIOCESE.
2)BISHOP MIXA ORDAINS FÜSSENS NEW CURATE
25 year old,Julius Kreuzer was ordained by Bishop Walter Mixa on the Feast of the Apostles,St Peter & St Paul 2008.Father Kreuzer is to be curate in St Mang from September 2008.Father Kreuzer will celebrate his 1st Mass as a priest on 6th July 2008 at 0930hrs at the Primatzplatu in Oberbauren.He will serve under Father Frank Deuring who will be the New Parish Priest in Füssen from September.Please remember in your prayers, both these Priests and also Monsignor Karlheinz Knebel and Father Kasimierz Piotrowski who are leaving the Parish.
3)THOUSANDS OF PILGRIMS VISIT ST MANG BASILICA!!

Did someone know something that St Mang authorities didn't know?
Were thousands of pilgrims about to descend on St Mang Basilica?
Did we need so many toilets for those who might be caught short?
Well it was actually a delivery of toilets for the Kaiserfest which took place the weekend Friday 27th June to Sunday 29th June.They had nowhere else to put them when they were first delivered.It was just a wee delivery for onward transportation!

4)KAISERFEST ROYALTY ATTEND MASS AT ST MANG

On Sunday 29th June 2008,some members of the Kaiserfest joined with the congregation of the 1000hrs Mass in St Mang Basilica.
They were celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Death of Emperor Maximilian 1st of Bavaria. (More to Follow)

Sunday 29th June 2008 saw the a patronal feast celebrated in St Peter & St Paul,Hopfen am See.After the 0930hrs Mass a party was held in the field behind the church.(More to Follow)

The Basilica of St Mang in Füssen,Bavaria,Deutschland is the Parish Church for the highest town in Bavaria,Germany.The town is 808 metres above sea level.The photo above shows St Mang and the former Monastery next to it.The Monastery was taken from the church during the secularization period in 1803.It is now owned by the local Council.
